TORTOISE OR HARE… recently while ascending a very narrow staircase I was struck by how slowly the person in front of me was actually moving. In few minutes later while walking across a rather busy parking lot I noticed the same thing with many of my fellow shoppers. They all seem to be following Aesop's suggestion that, "Slow but steady wins the race". That may be true for children's fables but it sure is a questionable strategy in Sales! One of the more important characteristics in selling is to "Have a Sense of Urgency in Everything You Do".
Here is your ACTION STEP… having a Sense of Urgency doesn't mean running around willy-nilly in circles. It means get on with what you are doing, take action, create results, and move on. Here's what the pros do:
1. View the task at hand and decide what needs to be done.
2. Don't think about it once you have decided… take action.
3. Critical Point: look like you are busy, look like you are intentional, move with energy! Send out the right message.4. On those days you don't feel like it, it's okay… just fake it!…but keep moving!
Your customers are attracted to Energy. People Are Attracted to Energy! Give off that feeling of confidence and productivity. When you're moving fast, things happen… be one of those who attracts success. NO Excuses.
