Steve Jobs’ Discovery
In his best seller, “The Presentation Secrets of Steve Jobs”, author Carmine Gallo shared an amazing insight he learned from the master himself – Steve Jobs.
Jobs shared that in order to be “insanely great in front of any audience” you had to recognize a very important truth. Here it is…
“The presentation is not your material or your medium (PowerPoint, slides, photographs, etc.)… The presentation is YOU. The effectiveness of your presentation is entirely dependent on how you perform – everything else is just in support of you.”
CONCLUSION:
Your listing presentation or your buyer presentation is not dependent on your marketing plan or the “things I’m going to do to get the job done”. That’s just in support of how well you communicate the benefits of what you offer. Great communication is achieved through your voice inflection, asking questions, your enthusiasm, your level of self-confidence, your body language, etc.
That’s why you need to practice your presentation over and over. Steve Jobs revealed that before every new product announcement he practised for a minimum of 6 weeks – that’s right, six weeks! So remember, the presentation is YOU. NO Excuses.
Thank you, Bruce!
