Special Customer Events

TREAT THEM SPECIAL… one of author Michael J. Maher’s “Seven Levels of Communication” is Events & Seminars. It’s very high on the list of effective communication. Why?… Because it shows your special Customers that you value them and want to say thank you. Success enjoys success. Referrals and Repeat Business come easily as a result of you sharing. Here are some great ideas of Events to honor your special clients:

Customer Event Opportunities

1. Sleigh ride or hay-wagon ride

2. Farm visit at Thanksgiving

3. Movie showing for children at a theater

4. Evening boat cruise

5. Christmas Festival in the local park

6. Skating party

7. Family picnic

8. Potluck supper event

9. Evening cocktails/dinner and dance

10. Magic show with clowns and crafts for children

Many Salespeople I have worked with have conducted the above types of Events for their special Customers. The most successful Events are a) well-planned in advance, b) they don’t need to cost too much, and c) offer an “invite your friends” approach. Once you get the system down the same event can be conducted on an annual basis. Find a formula that most appeals to you and start planning (and inviting!). Let’s face it, your competition isn’t doing this. Your Customers won’t forget your efforts, you may meet some new people, and you’ll have fun doing it. Here’s the best part: The aftermath of following up to see how they enjoyed themselves can be very fulfilling (and profitable). You can expect to get business out of this approach. NO Excuses.
