A few years ago singer John Mayer had a big hit called “Something’s Missing.” There were a couple of intriguing lines in the song. They went like this: “Something’s missing and I don’t know how to fix it. Something’s missing and I don’t know what it is.“
I’ve put together some ideas about what might be missing from your business that would help you take your business to a whole new level. Things that I’ve discovered with some of my real estate coaching clients. We’ve replaced “something’s missing” with productive habits and activities. The result is more sales with no more time, no more effort.
Here’s the list of 5 critical items you can’t afford to have missing in your Real Estate Sales Business…
#1. The first one is Asking for Referrals. Is it possible that something’s missing there? On occasion you talk to people but don’t ask them for referrals. “I don’t want to be too pushy, or I don’t want to seem like I’m too salesy.” There’s an easy way to do that. Check out “All the Right Words”. Here’s a sample…
“As you know, I’m always looking for more people to help in Real Estate…so I was wondering…who do you know that needs my help to buy or sell a home this year?”
#2. Next…How about your Daily Start Time? It all comes back to your time management. Is it consistent, or is there something missing there? Some days you start at 9:30, some days you start at 8:00. And some days you don’t start at all. Being consistent is critical, don’t start off your day out of sync. Get a solid routine in place.
#3. How about your Listing Presentation? Does it need a zing? Does it need in infusion of “here’s why I am different“? Is there something missing and too often you keep say, “You know, I’m losing every once in a while when I really shouldn’t be losing.” Your listing presentation can probably use a tune up.
#4. How about your Selling Skills? Now, this isn’t suggesting that you don’t have any skills. At the same time, what are you doing about adding to those skills on an ongoing basis? The topics we include in our “All the Right Answers” On-Line Training package will definitely help you fill any holes you might have in this area.
#5. The last one is Accountability. Is it possible, just possible, that there’s not enough accountability in place? Who’s holding your feet to the fire? Remember that “trying to do it on your own” is a mistake. Get someone to hold you accountable, someone who won’t let you buy into your own excuses. You do know you’re capable of more, don’t you? Great Coaching will always pay for itself a minimum of 5 times over…or more!
So think about what’s missing in your business. Have a look at this list. Ask yourself, “If I fill that void, what would it do for me? And more importantly, what’s it costing me not to do anything – sticking with the same old/same old?” I encourage you to put yourself in a position to be able to say…“Nothing’s Missing!!!” Keep stretching yourself and remember…NO Excuses...be all that you can be.
