Need a Sale?

I NEED A SALE!… as Salespeople we have all made that statement more than once. We look at our results, we look at our bank balance, and it doesn't take us long to realize that we need some business fast. Hence the statement… "I need a Sale!". As a Sales Coach for over 11 years now I realize that the "Sale" we are looking for so urgently is preceded by needing something else. What we really need is a "Skill". The Skill is the catalyst that will generate the Sale. 

Here is your ACTION STEP… there are many, many Skills in Selling. Whenever one of my Coaching Client is short on results, we always look to enhancing their various Skills to correct the problem. Here is a short list of some of the most important Skills… 

Skill #1. The discipline to prospect daily (self-discipline is a learned skill… no one is born with it) 

Skill #2. Being comfortable with using scripts and dialogs that enhance the customer communication (much better than "winging it") 

Skill #3.  The Skill to handle rejection and bounce back quickly 

Skill #4. Staying focused on your top priorities and saying NO to interruptions 

Skill #5. Realizing that learning how to Sell is a never-ending process and requires outside input and accountability (a Coach perhaps?) 

There is a reason why top Salespeople are among the highest paid professionals in business. It takes a lot of Skill. Mastering the above five Skills is like discovering the "mother lode". Start "mining" by enhancing your Skills today. NO Excuses.
