Let’s start with a song title, “Something’s Missing.” A few years ago John Mayer had a very big hit called “Something’s Missing.” There were a couple lines that went like this: “Something’s missing and I don’t know how to fix it. Something’s missing and I don’t know what it is.”
Let’s look at some possible “somethings missing” in the typical Real Estate Sales practice. What I’ve done is put together some ideas about what might be missing from your business that would help you take your business to a whole new level. Things that I’ve discovered with some of my real estate coaching clients where we’ve corrected that vacuum. We’ve filled it up and all kinds of results have come forward with no more time, no more effort.
Here’s my short list of five things that just might be missing.
1.The first one is asking for referrals. Is it possible that something’s missing there? That on occasion you do talk to people but then you don’t ask them for referrals. “I don’t want to be too pushy, or I don’t want to seem like I’m too salesy”. There’s an easy way to do that.
2. How about your morning start time? How about your time management? Is it consistent, or is there something missing in that? And some days you start at 9:30, some days you start at 8:00. And some days you don’t start at all.
3. How about your listing presentation? Does it need a zing? Does it need something? Is there something missing there that you keep saying, “You know, I’m losing every once in a when when I really shouldn’t be losing.” You should update your listing presentation every 6 months to stay ahead of the competition.
4. Let’s look at your skills? Now, this isn’t saying that you don’t have any skills, but what are you doing about adding to those skills on an ongoing basis? The things we do in our coaching, the things we have in our All the Right Words package, in our All the Right Time time management system. They fill these voids.
5. And the last one is Accountability. Is it possible, just possible, that there’s not enough accountability in place right now? Is someone really holding your feet to the fire? If someone did, guaranteed it would make a huge difference. Here’s some “tough love”…STOP trying to do it on your own! FYI…good Coaching should give you a 5 times return on your investment…5 times!
So think about what’s missing in your business. Have a look at this list. Always be upgrading who you are and what you offer. NO Excuses.
