As we wind down the year, it’s a good time for some personal reflection. Here’s a thought for you – when you look in the mirror, who do you see? Does the person that looks back project the image you want?
Usually the answer is YES…with some possible alterations. Most people are reasonably happy with themselves even though we think “there’s always room for improvement”. So…as you prepare for 2016 think about the reflection in that mirror you are portraying. What do others see?
1. My Spouse/Partner: am I adding to the relationship the way it deserves? The way I want to?
2. My Children: do I present a picture of leadership, love, and encouragement. What legacy am I leaving?
3. My Clients: who do they see me as? Am I being the professional I want them to know? Key point – am I in touch personally often enough?
4. My Coach: am I stepping up to the mark? Am I being accountable consistently? Am I letting him/her stretch me… am I 100% Coachable?
Look into the mirror and do two things… a) give yourself a hug (because sometimes you don’t do that often enough) and then b) look at what you want to enhance and upgrade. Be all that you can be. NO Excuses. BK
