Financial guru Chris Hogan advises that “one of the big mistakes in managing your money wisely is looking after your WANTS before you look after your NEEDS”.
Here’s Chris’s very important admonition…
“Good money management boils down to this – you must have the courage to tell your ‘want’ that it needs to wait”.
For example: “I want that new dress – I need to pay off my credit card first”.
Here are two more examples to illustrate Chris’s point even further:
1. ”I want to stay in bed until 7 AM – I need to get up at 6 AM so my day gets started on time.”
2. “I want to respond to all these e-mails and phone calls – I need to start prospecting at 9 AM so I can generate some new leads.”
Want more money at the end of the day? Stop rewarding yourself with short-term “wants”. Pay attention to those long-term “needs” that will change your life.
By doing so, not only will you be much more satisfied with what you are accomplishing, you’ll have much more to show for it at the end of the day! Stay away from the want…pay heed to your need. NO Excuses.
